"I bought this rug from HUES seventeen years ago. I loved it then for its cream ground and simple black dotted pattern — endlessly easy on the eye. Recently I moved, and my style shifted from the modern industrial look of my old place to a Mid-Century Modern home full of vintage wood furniture. A pattern this simple is wonderfully flexible in a room. And though the design is plain, the weaving hides a quiet cleverness; those subtle shifts in texture are exactly what makes it stand out on the floor and feel so refined. In the industrial room it balanced the cold of iron and concrete and brought warmth; in the new MCM home its warm cream is not only soft underfoot but also carves out a distinct zone in the open living room — a perfect partition without a single wall.
